The outer track goes around the outer edge of the zone, and the inner track goes around the outside of Ymirheim in the middle. The best way to think about the farming path in Icecrown is nested rings. You will also need Artisan Riding to have any hope of competing with other miners. However, flying is absolutely required here because nodes are usually inaccessible without it. Icecrown is also a great place to farm Saronite and Titanium, with high density of potential nodes. Wintergrasp's mining nodes form a pretty good figure-8, with a couple paths down to the southeast and out to the west. For more information on doing some side farming for Eternals, please see this guide:įarming Eternals and Crystallized Essences in WoTLK Classic Wintergrasp is also the most popular place to farm Eternal and Crystallized essences when your faction has control, so it will be crowded with farmers of all kinds. This doesn't mean you won't have any opposite faction entanglements, but they should be manageable. Wintergrasp mining comes with one huge caveat: it's a great place to mine Saronite and Titanium if your faction has control and there isn't an active battle in place. Storm Peaks has a few, but these are isolated to a few extreme border areas and right around K3, the starting village. One thing these zones have in common is a lack of Cobalt Deposit taking up space. The routes and information presented about their spawn areas will be the same for both, since literally any Saronite node can be replaced with Titanium at any given time. We aren't going to differentiate between mining one or the other, since they both occupy the same nodes and the key to getting more Titanium is to keep them turned over as much as possible. If you don't have Cold Weather Flying but you have at least Expert Riding, you can borrow a 60% speed flying mount from "Honest" Max at K3 in Storm Peaks, which will at least get you started on high-level mining.īest Saronite and Titanium Mining in Wrath of the Lich King Classic While some can be reached from a ground mount, most of them will be inaccessible without flight. Saronite and Titanium nodes are only found in four zones - The Storm Peaks, Sholazar Basin, Icecrown, and Wintergrasp, all of which pretty much require flying due to the frequent difficult positioning of these nodes. The three possible deposits require different levels of Mining:įarming Saronite and Titanium also nearly requires Cold Weather Flying, which you can't get until level 77. Minimum Requirements for Saronite and Titanium if Titanium Ore is selling for more than 4x the cost of Saronite Ore, use the Saronite Ore to make Titanium Bars if Titanium Ore is selling for less than 4x the price of Saronite Ore, use the Titanium Ore). Just check your local market to make sure that conversion makes sense (ie. Plus, if you can find a friendly Alchemy Transmute Master with Transmute: Titanium, you can turn 8x Saronite Bar into one Titanium Bar, if getting bars is helpful to you. If you're looking for Titanium and all you're finding is Saronite, you should mine the Saronite Deposit anyway, since this churns the nodes and gives it another chance to spawn a Titanium Vein instead. Titanium is a rare "version" of the Saronite node, which is important to understand if you want to get the most Titanium possible. There is a third rare spawn type, Rich Saronite Deposit, just to complicate matters further. Nodes for Saronite and Titanium are shared, with Saronite being the more common spawn between them. Saronite Ore and Titanium Ore are two of the three ore types in Wrath of the Lich King Classic the third, Cobalt, is common across all zones and in far less overall demand. This guide will show you were to find Saronite Deposits (and by extension Titanium Veins), including tips and possible farming routes to follow.įor more information about Mining in Wrath of the Lich King Classic, and the professions that use it, please see our guides:īlacksmithing in WoTLK Classic Engineering in WoTLK Classic Jewelcrafting in WoTLK ClassicĪbout Saronite and Titanium in Wrath of the Lich King Classic Jewelcrafters have an additional need for Prospecting both Saronite Ore and Titanium Ore Saronite Ore gives a higher chance of getting a Rare-quality base gem than prospecting Cobalt Ore, and Epic-quality gems can only be prospected from Titanium Ore (although Epic-quality gems can also be created from Rare-quality gems through Alchemists' Transmute abilities). Both Saronite and Titanium Ore are in high demand for Blacksmithing, Engineering, and Jewelcrafting for making high-level items. Ore mining is a profitable venture in Wrath of the Lich King Classic, and more so for the rarer and more difficult Saronite Deposits and Titanium Veins.
